"In this workshop, held by Besler & Sons students were asked to examine  and document the typically under-recognized forms of creative practice and knowledge circulating through buildings , specifically we examined the recent phenomenon of “non-pedigreed” building practices in Italy, known colloquially as the 'Casa del Geometra'. as a group we were asked to develop elevations for the exercise.
... Through a study of photographs of existing homes designed by geometras (or possessing the nuances and novel characteristics of the “Casa del Geometra”) found primarily in exurban developments, students will work in groups to research and document specific topics related to these homes and the professionals that design them to produce a collective catalog or taxonomy of building details, doors, windows, fences, bricks, planters, moldings, roofs, as well as building practices, regulation, and daily life.
